I hope you all had a safe Fourth of July! This devotional is inspired obviously, by the Fourth! For America, this day represents a day of freedom. It was the day that America became their own country and was free from the British. I argue that the Freedom we find in Christ is just like this! So, nothing against you Britain, its just an example, but in this situation, Britain is like the Sin that held us captive. The people that believed in the dream of America had to fight so hard to get away from the British. There were many huge and small battles, and finally the war was one. When Christ died for your sins, he had a battle in the grave. He won. And because God likes to share, We also are victors! It is for Freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by the yoke of slavery. As Americans, We are really prideful in the fact that we think we are the best country out there. Believe me, I saw so many posts about it! I truly do love America, and am so blessed to live in such an awesome country like this! I conduct my Pride to my God though. I truly do have the best God out there. He is the truth the way and the light! When we see the American flag, that is our reminder of our freedom. When I see the Cross I see my eternal Freedom. We have been set free from the shackles of Sin. Alysia, what does that even mean?
Well, before Jesus died, we were bound to our Sin. It dictated us, and it ensured a permanent spot in Hell for us. But when Christ died for you, he undid your chains. Hell is literally an option. You have the freedom to decide basically where you go. Whether that is following Gods path, and spending eternity in heaven with him, or following a path of destruction and spending eternity in a fire. Your choice is so crucial. Before you didn't have a choice. Hell was a default for your soul. But through Christ, You have that option. I think it's so cool that our Sin no longer defines us. To me, that makes me want to be at the foot of the Cross daily. I hope you have a very awesome, and safe Fourth of July weekend, and Don't forget your freedom! [: Praise God!
